Air intake Y-Pipe for the Porsche 997 Turbo. The 3.6L engine will perform better with our improved Y-pipe. With a perfect piping diameter that is stepped to retain full Boost Pressure, our Performance Y-Pipe is not oversized and will not hurt performance, you will only benefit from the addition of this Y-Pipe. Improvements and power can be felt immediately after the installation of this Y-Pipe.
The factory Y-Pipe is made of plastic but the looks are deceiving, when you open the rear latch the factory Y-Pipe may seem to be round or oval but it isn’t, it really has a triangular shape, I guess Porsche designed it that way for fitting purposes, the outside diameter is also deceiving it may look large but again it really isn’t the wall thickness is approx. 5 to 7mm depending on which section, that’s a 10mm to 14mm difference from the outside diameter to the inside. The factory Y-pipe starts off with an internal diameter of approx. 40mm to its largest section at 54mm.
Let’s look at the Y-Pipe, it’s made of Aluminum weighs 1lbs less than the factory Y-pipe, the pipe starts off with an internal diameter of 51mm to 67mm at its largest point. The Y-Pipe will flow approx. 20% more air into that engine resulting into additional power, best of all no Boost Pressure loss. Our Y-Pipe is also perfectly round with no triangular shape like the original Y-Pipe which results in a perfectly smooth flow and faster air delivery to the engine.
Both stock and modified Porsche 997 Turbo will benefit from this pipe, it’s a no brainer.
Our Performance Y-Pipe is designed to fit without any modification, it will fit with the stock Air Intake box and throttle body no other parts are needed to install our Y-Pipe you can re-use your stock clamps.
Our Y-Pipe does not have the guides like the factory Y-pipe, those guides are not necessary for our Y-Pipe to function at 100%.
Comes painted in Black with high heat resistant paint, no other colors are available however you can easily get it painted in the color of your choice.
